Hook Deadlock
A hook deadlock can be installed on the door of a vehicle. It operates independently of the locking mechanism. It is operated by the use of a key and provides an additional layer of protection to prevent "Peel and Steal". They are inexpensive and can make you van less attractive to criminals. However, they aren't 100 100% foolproof, and should be utilized in conjunction with other van security products like Anti Peel brackets etc.
Each lock is a specialised deadlock and is designed for the specific model and make of doors on vehicles. They function by putting a hook-style bolt into a bracket that is attached to the bodywork inside the car. The bolt catches and hooks onto the bracket, which prevents it from being bent or peeled. This is a great method to protect vans from burglaries.
These locks are easy to install and can be fitted to both doors to the cab and rear load areas. They are also more attractive than van locks that are fitted externally, with a neat euro-cylinder on the exterior and an escutcheon around it.
They can be set to deadlock mode which makes it more difficult for thieves to take your tools and valuables. Deadlocks are more suitable for those who don't have to access their van often and require a higher level of security.
The most well-known hook locks are those mounted on the cab as well as the rear doors. These locks are an excellent method to secure your valuables and tools from theft. Slam Lock
A Slam lock is a cutting-edge van security solution which ensures that your doors to your vehicle are secured when they close. This means that criminals who are able to steal your car won't be able to capitalize on any mistake made by a motorist who fails to close the door of their van manually in the midst of a rush, and they also act as a deterrent to anyone who might be tempted to steal.
A commercial slam lock works by connecting to your van's manufacturer's locks to automatically lock the door every time it is closed. This is a great choice for couriers and multi-drop drivers who are usually traveling and have a lot to complete. It saves them from needing keys to lock their vehicle every time.
Once a slam locking device is installed, all you have to do is push the handle down, which will activate the lock, and then close the door shut. You can then open the door again using your key, which means you can keep your belongings and tools safe while working. If you want the ultimate van security, it's also worth looking into a deadlock. They offer a higher level of security as they are more difficult to open and require more physical effort to open.

Both types of locks have their own benefits The best lock for you will depend on the way you use your van. A slam lock is great for those who regularly use the rear of their vehicles, like couriers or multi-drop drivers and are more concerned about security of their possessions while on the go. Statement Lock
The lock is designed to be installed externally on the door of commercial vehicles (trucks and vans) offering a visible deterrent and extra security. It works independently from the locking system of the manufacturer and can be used alongside other anti-theft devices.
The LOCK TABLE statement generates shared locks on all tables referenced in the table specification. If a viewtable is specified and the lock is created, it creates shared locking on all basetables which are under the viewtable. The LOCK TABLE command can be used to lock all tables in the database, a particular table, or just a single row in a table. If only the table name is mentioned after the table's name and the table name is specified, only the table that is specified will be locked. If a When row_spec> specifies only the row of the table is identified by the key values of the result table or position is locked.
A ROW EXCLUSIVE locks prevents simultaneous data modifications from altering or deleting rows within the table. van hook locks can be obtained by UPDATE and DELETE statements and also INSERT, MERGE, and Vacuum statements. This lock mode can also be acquired by ANALYZE and CREATE INDEX CORRECTLY statement, and also by certain ALTER TABLE and ALTER VIEW statement.
When a lock has been set to ROW EXCLUSIVE mode, all updates and deletions must be completed before the lock owner releases the lock. This prevents deadlocks between concurrent sessions that modify the row.
If the transaction is using the ROW EXCLUSIVE mode lock and another session attempts to update the same row, the first session encounters a duplicate key error. The second session will need wait until the current transaction has been committed or reversed before it can gain a ROW SHARE lock on the row.
The locking mode of ROWSHARED is acquired using the UPDATE, DELETE and MERGE statements. It is also acquired by ANALYZE CREATE STATISTICS and COMMENT ON statements. This lock mode guards tables from concurrent schema changes and VACUUM runs.
The LOCK TABLE WITH HOLD clause enables you to set an execution lock on a specific procedure for a certain amount of time. If another program attempts to run the same protocol on the same connection, the program will be stopped until the lock on execution is released.
Anti Peel Kit
The 'peel and steal' technique is now a popular method for thieves to gain entry to vans. They employ force to pry open the side doors. This type of attack involves putting pressure and weight to weak spots within the door of your van, which they then pull it back. This allows them to gain access to equipment and tools that are stored within the cargo area. There are solutions to this issue such as the L4V Anti-Peel Kit. This bracket is armoured and greatly increases the resistance of your side load door to this kind of attack with independent tests indicating it can increase the strength of your van's doors by up to 3000 percent.
Designed to fit easily and securely to the door skin of your van These anti-peel kits have been manufactured from durable materials that can endure repeated attacks. They can be used as a standalone security measure or with other security measures, such as hook locks. When used together the physical security offered by the anti-peel kits and the additional security provided by a hook lock make it difficult for criminals to break into your van.
A new variant on this product is the L4V Anti-Peel and High Hook Lock Combination, which offers both the anti-peel plate and a high-mounted hook lock in one. It's a great solution to lower the chance that vans will be stolen through 'peel-and-steal' robbery attacks.
